Remedy Download.............Remedy Lyrics

Chris Carter was about to compile the last "Songs inspired by the X-Files" CD and he asked if I'd like to contribute. As I wrote this song, he mentored me around it in an interesting way. He suggested I change the grammatical tense to conditional (using "could" instead of "would"). It was cool working with him and it tunred out to be one of the more eerie songs in my catalogue. The X-Files record never came out - but it's on MY record! Thanks Chris.

La Dee Dah Download.............La Dee Dah Lyrics

I was in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with my mom. Things were going great in my career and creatively, but I was stuck on the wrong guy (the married one from track #8). I confessed that I was losing my grip, sinking into a black whole and my brilliant mom (psychotherapist - yep) knocked some sense into me - gently of course. I wrote it there on the beach - inspired by the pounding surf and Steve Miller's "I'm a Joker" for the groove. It turned out to be a pivotal song for me in my moving on and finding true love. My mom is the best.

I'm Telling Santa Download.............I'm Telling Santa Lyrics

This song is what my publisher (husband) David Hirshland calls a sky song. I was lying on my back with the guitar on top of me in my old apartment. It was almost Christmas and I was madly crushing on this guy from Quebec. It really came out in a few minutes - nearly complete. Some people ask about the "Hannukah chimes" in the secord verse. Well, being jewish and christian - it's kind of a blend of my festive/diverse upbringing. And, I guess I made them up. But I see them in my head. This recording features Vinnie Caliuta and John Beasley amoung others. Man does it swing.
